The site for urban acupuncture was Saket and Malviya Nagar including the urban villages of Hauz Rani, Khirki, and its extensions. The unutilised heritage structures and precincts and the lack of identity of urban villages were identified as one of the major issues in the site. The broader idea is to create a trail from the Press Enclave Marg, Saket to connect with the Khirki Mosque and further into the Khirki village towards the Yusuf Qattal’s Tomb. The trail designed is a shorter route to the institutes near Yusuf Qattal’s Tomb and is pedestrian friendly with retail alongside the streets of the village. The design further introduces bylaws and amalgamation policies to de-densify the Khirki Village to enhance the living conditions within the village and to accommodate the trail.
